INTRODUCTION TO THE TAROT

Class Tarot01
Session II : Various Decks and Minor Arcana Swords

There are so many Tarot Decks out there! Which deck is the best to use as a reader?

There are more than a hundred different Tarot decks in print today. They range in various sizes, shapes and topics of interest. The most well known Tarot Decks, and the oldest working sets are, The Tarot of Marseilles, Crowley Thoth Tarot Deck, and The Rider-Waite Tarot deck. In this class we will be using the Rider-Waite deck for the reasons mentioned in Session I. However, you are welcome to use any Tarot deck that you would like as you begin doing more and more readings.

There is no "right" Tarot deck to use as a reader. The best deck to use, is the deck that calls to you, that attracts your senses, and calls to you on a deeper level. The deck or decks that you are pulled towards is the right deck for you as a reader. Spend some time in your local bookstore or New Age center and look through their sample decks. Get a feel for a variety of styles and points of focus. Some of the more popular Tarot decks are The Celtic Tarot, The Dragon Tarot, The Witches Tarot, The Tarot of the Cat People, The Aquarian Tarot, The Celtic Dragon Tarot, The Fairy Tarots, The Goddess Tarot, The Golden Dawn Tarot, The Native American Tarot, The Norse Tarot, and The Vampire Tarot.
